DuraCorp, LLC Purchases Corrugated Thermoforming From Menasha
DuraCorp, LLC, Lewis Center, OH has announced that it has purchased the assets of the “MenashaWare” line of thermoformed corrugated products from Menasha Packaging, LLC.
“This acquisition makes perfect sense for us,” said Bill Shepard, DuraCorp CEO. “I was exposed to and became excited about this unique technology while I was CEO of Menasha Packaging. Enough so, in fact, that after leaving Menasha I chose to focus my resources upon building a company exclusively utilizing this technology. DuraCorp is now the only significant force in the market of thermoformed corrugated paper products.”
DuraCorp, a rapidly growing company barely over a year old, produces and markets a line of super-strong disposable dinnerware and deli trays under the trade name of SuperServe, and custom bakeware and serveware sold predominantly to bakeries, casual restaurants, and prepared food companies. The company’s founder and president, Gary Alexander, has been involved with the technology since its inception. Alexander’s machinery company, Gralex, designed the thermoformers, and Alexander and his engineers developed the patented process of thermoforming corrugated board, in conjunction with P&G several years ago. DuraCorp produces product under license from P&G.
“We make a product unlike any other,” said Alexander, “whether a 7” dinner plate, an 18” deli tray, a pie pan, or a custom formed baking or serving pan, our product offers a combination of strength, dual-ovenability, 6-color graphics, leak-proof coatings and environmental responsibility unmatched by any competing product, whether made of paper, plastic or aluminum.”
All of Menasha Packaging’s customers purchasing thermoformed corrugated products have been transitioned to DuraCorp. |
